Rebate programs for community buildings
Rebate programs1 and support are available for Indigenous communities to improve the energy efficiency of buildings such as administration offices, health and recreation centres, friendship centres, schools, daycares and multi-unit residential buildings that provide housing for community members. Rebates are available for upgrading existing buildings as well as new construction projects.

High-efficiency natural gas furnaces | up to $1,000 per unit | For eligible furnaces in existing small commercial buildings that are between 95 and 99% AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency); add a connected thermostat for an additional $150 rebate. |
High-efficiency natural gas water heaters | varies | For eligible commercial storage tanks, water supply boilers and tankless water heaters. |
Social Housing Retrofit | varies | Access funding for energy studies to identify upgrades in existing multi-unit residential buildings that provide housing for income-qualified residents, rebates for energy conservation measures, and implementation support funding to help ensure upgrades meet quality standards. |
