Substation projects
As part of our approved capital plans, we are investing about $133 million between 2025 and 2027 in new infrastructure projects including upgrades to substations and transmission lines to expand our electricity system.
Upgrades to the Duck Lake substation included a second transformer, new switches and a breaker, along with other equipment improvements. These enhancements help support the reliability and capacity of the electricity system in the Kelowna and Lake Country area.

Equipment upgrades at the Glenmore substation increased system capacity. The project helps support the growing electricity needs of customers in Kelowna.

The Saucier substation project includes a second transformer, a new control room, new breakers, and upgraded station equipment. These improvements will increase capacity and reliability for customers in the Kelowna area.

The DG Bell substation is being upgraded with a new transformer, circuit breakers, and other equipment. The project will increase capacity and improve the reliability of the local electricity system.

A new higher-capacity substation is being built at the existing Christina Lake site. The project will help meet future electricity needs and support reliable service in the community.

The Warfield terminal station is being expanded to replace the A.S. Mawdsley terminal station. New high-voltage transformers and circuit breakers will increase system capacity and reliability across the region.
