Heat pump service rebate

Having your heat pump serviced annually will help keep it working as safely and efficiently as possible. Better yet, you could qualify for a $50 rebate on your service.

Eligibility

  1. You must be a residential FortisBC or municipal electricity customer of Grand Forks, Summerland, Penticton or Nelson Hydro.
  2. You must submit your rebate application within 60 days of your service invoice date.

What your service should include

A heat pump service should include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • checking overall operation and safety components
  • inspecting refrigeration lines, fan motor, compressor, condensate pump and drain line
  • checking electrical wiring, contacts and terminals
  • inspecting and cleaning air filters

Rebate details

We offer a $50 rebate on having your heat pump serviced by a qualified contractor. You can find one near you by searching our contractor directory.

How to apply

  1. Have your heat pump serviced, as per the terms and conditions.
  2. Within 60 days of your heat pump service, apply online for your heat pump service rebate with the following information:
    • your FortisBC electricity account number or municipal account number from Penticton, Summerland, Grand Forks or Nelson Hydro or, if you’re not the utility account holder (e.g. rental property), please have the account holder complete the Utility Account Holder Consent form 
    • your email
    • scanned copies of all paid receipts

    Ensure all receipts are clear, legible, itemized and indicate all relevant information such as the brand, model number and any other required information for your application. See a sample invoice for specific requirements.

  3. FortisBC electricity customers will receive a rebate as a bill credit. Municipal electricity customers of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland and Nelson will receive a rebate cheque.
  4. Applications may take up to 90 days to process.
