Non-profit organizations can apply for rebates on eligible HVAC and building controls that could help their systems run more efficiently, use less energy and reduce energy costs.

- You must be a FortisBC gas customer under any rate class except Rate 1 and/or a commercial FortisBC electricity customer or municipal electricity customer of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro.
- You must operate a registered charity that provides assistance to income-qualified persons, or a housing provider that is:
- a local government
- a housing society registered under the Societies Act
- a housing co-op registered under the Cooperative Association Act or
- an Indigenous governing body that is authorized to act on behalf of Indigenous peoples
- Note: non-profit participants do not include:
- school boards or educational institutions
- health authorities or hospitals
- public libraries
- You must be a property owner or long-term leaseholder of a commercial or industrial building, or the builder, developer or owner of a new commercial building.
- You must submit an application and supporting documentation no later than 365 days after the purchase date of the product(s) (as shown on the paid invoice) or installation date, whichever is first.
- The invoice must be dated on or after April 22, 2026.
- Purchase and install eligible equipment/products. Note: some products may be eligible for point-of-sale FortisBC rebates. Visit our Trade Ally Network equipment supplier directory and look for this
icon. - Alternatively, apply online with the following information:
- your FortisBC gas or electricity account number or a municipal electricity account number from Penticton, Summerland, Grand Forks or Nelson Hydro
- your email
- scanned or pdf copies of all paid receipts for the purchase and installation of products relevant to the rebate you are applying for
- Ensure all receipts are marked as “paid” and are clear, legible, itemized and indicate relevant information such as brand, model number and any other required information in your application.
