Due to a potential Canada Post service interruption rebate cheque deliveries may be delayed. Mailed cheques remain the only available method of rebate payment. For general updates, please refer to the information alert page.

You could qualify for a $50 rebate when you get your heat pump serviced by a licensed electrical contractor.

Annual servicing could help maintain the life expectancy of your gas appliances and could help to ensure they're operating safely and efficiently, according to Natural Resources Canada. Additionally, most appliance manufacturers require regular servicing to maintain appliance warranties.

  1. You must be a residential FortisBC or municipal electricity customer of Grand Forks, Summerland, Penticton or Nelson Hydro.
  2. You must submit your rebate application within 60 days of your service invoice date.
  1. Have your heat pump serviced, as per the terms and conditions.
  2. Within 60 days of your heat pump service, apply online for your heat pump service rebate with the following information:
  3. your FortisBC electricity account number or municipal account number from Penticton, Summerland, Grand Forks or Nelson Hydro or, if you’re not the utility account holder (e.g. rental property), please have the account holder complete the Utility Account Holder Consent form.
    • your email address
    • scanned copies of all paid receipts
  4. FortisBC electricity customers will receive a rebate as a bill credit. Municipal electricity customers of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland and Nelson will receive a rebate cheque.
  5. Applications may take up to 90 days to process.
