Our electricity utility

The British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) regulates and sets rates within a framework that combines cost of service and performance-based regulation for FortisBC Inc., our Electricity Utility.

The BCUC is an independent regulatory agency of the BC Provincial Government, operating under and administering the Utilities Commission Act (“UCA”).

This framework is intended to encourage our Electricity Utility to operate efficiently by permitting its shareholders and customers to share in cost savings if specified targets are met. Visit the BCUC website at bcuc.com.
