If you have doors that are frequently open at your commercial or industrial facility, air curtains can help reduce heat waste and energy costs by delivering a controlled stream of air that helps separate indoor and outdoor environments. 

Our rebates can help industrial facilities save on installing new air curtains on doors that are frequently open, to keep heated or conditioned air in and drafts out.

Medium door air curtain (51–100 sq. ft. openings, e.g. single or double doors)

Large door air curtain (greater than 100 sq. ft. openings, e.g. garage-style doors) 

$2,000 per door

  1. You must be a FortisBC gas customer under any rate class except Rate 1. 
  2. You must be an owner or long-term leaseholder of an existing commercial or industrial building, or a builder, developer or owner of a new commercial or industrial construction project. 
  3. Replacement of existing air curtains is not eligible for rebates. 
  4. Air curtains must:
    • be used in primarily natural gas heated spaces with an overhead door in an entryway that separates a conditioned space from an unconditioned space 
    • be up to 25 per cent of the space heating system can be multi-fuel or non-natural gas-fired. Systems not meeting these criteria may still be eligible; however, they are subject to additional analysis, and require pre-approval from FortisBC. 
    • not be for use in refrigerated spaces 
    • be tested by a third-party performance standard (ANSI/AMCA Standard 220-05, Laboratory Methods of Testing Air Curtain Units for Aerodynamic Performance Rating or comparable ISO standard) 
  5. You must submit your application and supporting documents no later than 365 days after the product purchase date as shown on the paid invoice. 
  1. Apply online for your air curtain rebate. Your rebate application must include a copy of a paid invoice showing the product type, quantity, make, model number and total installed cost (before tax).
  2. Once approved, you should receive your rebate in six to eight weeks.
