Natural gas wall furnace rebate

A natural gas wall furnace along the side of a living room wall (18-150.12)

Up to $1,600 in rebates available when you pre-qualify for the Wall Furnace Program before March 31, 2024.

Install a direct vent natural gas wall furnace for efficient heating in a small space, and you could be eligible for a rebate of $700 + $500 bonus for a limited time. Add a natural gas water heater at the same time for an additional $400 rebate.

A wall furnace—also known as a direct vent room heater—can be added to your home’s existing heating system to reach those cold spots in your garage, basement or workshop, or provide cost-effective heating for a home where the ducts and venting required by a central heating system aren’t feasible, such as a cabin or laneway house.

Natural gas customers can choose to sign up for Renewable Natural Gas,1 which works seamlessly with regular natural gas appliances like wall furnaces and water heaters.

  1. To qualify for the limited time $500 bonus rebate, you must receive a pre-qualification code before March 31, 2024. The pre-qualification code must be received before installing your upgrades. The current rebate promotion will be terminated once all of the available pre-qualification codes have been issued.
  2. All new direct vent natural gas wall furnaces that meet B.C. code requirements are eligible.
  3. This program is for existing homes only and is not available for new construction.
  4. Only one rebate per appliance or system installed per household.
  5. You must apply for your wall furnace rebate within 90 days of your paid invoice date or by September 30, 2024, whichever comes first. The installation must be completed and have a paid invoice dated before June 30, 2024, to qualify for the $500 bonus rebate.

1Renewable Natural Gas (also called RNG or biomethane) is produced in a different manner than conventional natural gas. It is derived from biogas, which is produced from decomposing organic waste from landfills, agricultural waste and wastewater from treatment facilities. The biogas is captured and cleaned to create Renewable Natural Gas.
