FortisBC announces Peter Blake as new board chair

Seasoned executive takes new role with B.C. energy leader

SURREY, B.C.—April 2, 2024: FortisBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Blake (FCPA, FCA), as the new Chair of the Board of Directors of FortisBC Energy Inc. and FortisBC Inc. (collectively FortisBC), which went into effect April 1, 2024. The transition of the role of Chair reflects a regular rotation of this role and is part of the Board’s succession planning process.

Mr. Blake succeeds Tracy Medve, who has been in the role of Chair since 2019. Ms. Medve has provided the Corporation with exceptional leadership and guidance and the Board thanks her for her significant contributions during her time as Chair. Ms. Medve will remain on the Board.

He previously served on FortisBC’s Board of Directors as the Chair of the Audit Committee from 2019 to 2023 and has been on the FortisBC Board since 2017.
