Other requirements for rebates

Your new boiler or ENERGY STAR combination heating and hot water system must have two-pipe direct venting. (Note: two pipes are not required for P9 tankless water heater with air handler combination systems.) One pipe provides directly vented outside air to the sealed combustion chamber, while the second sealed pipe directs exhaust gases outside. How to apply

  1. Purchase an eligible ENERGY STAR boiler, ENERGY STAR combination heating and hot water system or P9 certified tankless water heater with air handler combination heating and hot water system and have it installed by a Technical Safety BC licensed gas contractor with a valid GST number. 2. Apply online. Your application must include:
    • a copy of your completed boiler/combination system commissioning sheet from your contractor
    • a photograph of the new two-pipe direct vent system, if applicable, (sample 1, sample 2) installed in your home

      • all work performed
      • purchase date
      • make and model number
      • installation permit number and the gas contractor’s Technical Safety BC licence number (see the sample invoice for specific requirements.)
  3. Applications may take up to 90 days to process. A small percentage of applicants may be asked for permission to visit their home to verify the installation and operation of their new system. These site visits are carried out by a third-party contractor and help us improve our rebate programs.
