FortisBC events prize pack contest Terms and conditions
1. Contest rules for contestants
- FortisBC Events Prize Pack Contest (the “Contest”) is being offered by FortisBC Energy and FortisBC Inc. (collectively, “FortisBC”) and is open to all in-person and/or virtual attendees of FortisBC events during the Contest Period (each an “Event”).
- Participation in the Contest constitutes full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”), which are final on all matters relating to the Contest.
2. How to enter
- All Event attendees who (i) are legal residents of B.C.; (ii) are 19 years of age or older at the time of entry; and (iii) attend an Event in-person and/or virtually and complete and submit a paper or online ballot during an Entry Period (defined below), will be entered into a draw to win a Prize. Participation is free and contestants do not need to be FortisBC customers to participate.
- Employees and contractors of FortisBC, its parent company, subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible to enter the Contest.
- The Contest opens at 9 a.m. on April 1, 2025, and will close at 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2025, Pacific Standard Time (the “Contest Period”). The Contest Period consists of the following entry periods (each an “Entry Period”):

- All Event attendees who submit a ballot, in-person or online, at an Event during the Entry Period and who comply with the Terms and Conditions will be eligible for one (1) entry into the Contest. No purchase necessary. Event attendees are restricted to one (1) entry per person, per entry period during the Contest Period.
- Entries made with multiple addresses, or under multiple identities, may be void at the sole discretion of FortisBC. All Contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete, illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged, irregular or fraudulent in any way or otherwise not in compliance with the Terms and Conditions may be void at the sole discretion of FortisBC will be the sole and final reference source in validating a Prize claim. All entries become the property of FortisBC and will not be returned or acknowledged.
3. Prizing
- A total of seven (6) to be awarded, each consisting of two (2) YETI Rambler mugs, one (1) YETI Camino 20 Carryall tote bag and one (1) FortisBC blanket (each a “Prize” and collectively the “Prizes”). The total approximate retail value of each Prize is CAD$400. YETI is not a participant in or sponsor of the
- The Prize must be accepted as No cash alternatives, substitution or transfer of a Prize will be allowed. FortisBC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a Prize for another of approximately equal value.
4. Potential winner selection
- FortisBC will select winners at six (6) different random draws during the Contest Period on the Draw Dates set out below from among all eligible entries submitted during the previous Entry Period. Only one (1) potential winner will be selected on
each Draw Date. Only contestants who enter during the applicable Entry Period will be eligible to win.
Once a contestant is declared a winner, that contestant will not be eligible for any additional Prizes.Entry Period

- The odds of winning a Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during an Entry Period.
5. Notification
- The selected contestants will be contacted by phone or email within one (1) week of the applicable Draw Date at the telephone number or email address provided by the contestant to FortisBC. FortisBC will attempt to reach the selected contestant no
more than three (3) times. FortisBC will have no liability if the notification is lost, intercepted or not received by a selected contestant for any reason. If FortisBC is unable to contact the selected contestant within five (5) days of the third
attempted contact, the non- responsive selected contestant will be disqualified and will forfeit any applicable Prize.
Any selected contestant that has been disqualified will have no recourse against FortisBC and FortisBC will have no liability or responsibility to the disqualified selected contestant. If a selected contestant is disqualified or forfeits the Prize, FortisBC may draw the name of an alternate contestant from among the remaining eligible contestants until a winner is declared - To be declared a Contest winner and to receive a Prize, the selected contestant must (i) meet all Contest eligibility requirements and otherwise comply with the Terms and Conditions; and (ii) correctly answer, unaided, a time-sensitive skill-testing
question. FortisBC may require selected contestant to verify eligibility and may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any selected contestant that cannot verify all Contest eligibility requirements. Entries made with multiple addresses, or under
multiple identities, may be void at the sole discretion of FortisBC.
FortisBC shall have no further obligation to the Prize winners other than the Prize awarded. Prizes will be mailed to the Prize winners. Allow six to eight weeks for delivery. - Prize claim is subject to verification by FortisBC and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple addresses, or under multiple identities, may be void at the sole discretion of FortisBC. All Contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or that are incomplete, illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged, irregular, or fraudulent in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules may be void at the sole discretion of FortisBC. FortisBC will be the sole and final reference source in validating a prize claim
6. General
- Indemnification/Release of Liability. By participating, all contestants and the selected Prize winners agree (i) to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and the decisions of FortisBC; and (ii) to release, indemnify and hold harmless
FortisBC and its affiliates, subsidiaries and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives, including advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability for
claims and/or damages, including but not limited to claims and/or damages for personal injury (including death) or property damage, with respect to or arising from participation in the Contest and acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a Prize,
or for claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or intrusion of privacy.
FortisBC will not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest. FortisBC accepts no liability or responsibility for loss, damage, injury, costs or claims of any nature caused by or resulting from the Contest or acceptance of a Prize, including without limitation, the administration of the Contest, the selection and confirmation of the winner(s), and the awarding and use of the Prize(s). FortisBC will not be responsible for late, lost, undeliverable, illegible, incomplete, falsified, tampered with, altered or destroyed entries for any reason and all such entries will be void. In the event it is determined that a contestant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by the Terms and Conditions and/or has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by the Terms and Conditions, the contestant will be disqualified and all of the entries submitted by the contestant will be void. FortisBC is not responsible for any typographical, human or other error in the printing of the Contest and/or collateral advertising materials, administration of the Contest, processing of the entries or in the announcement of the Prize winner or in any other materials or information associated with the Contest. FortisBC will not be liable, and does not assume any responsibility, for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. FortisBC is not responsible for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive information by FortisBC on account of technical problems, or on account of traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. - Terms and Conditions. FortisBC, in its sole and absolute discretion, reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Contest or the Terms and Conditions at any time for any reason, without prior notice. The decisions of FortisBC in relation to this Contest will be final and binding on all contestants.
- Personal Information. Contestants acknowledge and agree that, by entering the Contest, they consent to FortisBC’s collection, use and disclosure of their personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest. FortisBC will not share personal information collected from contestants with any third parties, except as necessary for the administration of the Contest. FortisBC will not attempt to contact contestants for any other purpose other than to administer the Contest unless the contestant has opted-in to receive email communications containing news, updates and promotions from FortisBC.
- Governing Law. By entering the Contest, contestants agree: (i) that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest or the Prize award will be resolved in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, and (ii) to irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of British Columbia over any claim or matter arising under or in connection with the Contest or the Terms and Conditions.
- Intellectual Property. FortisBC and/or its affiliates own all intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited. FortisBC Inc. and FortisBC Energy Inc. do business as FortisBC. The companies are indirect, wholly owned subsidiaries of Fortis Inc. FortisBC uses the FortisBC name and logo under license from Fortis Inc.
