Working in your neighbourhood

We regularly maintain our infrastructure to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of energy to our customers. This includes upgrading electricity and natural gas lines – which may require crews to work along roads – as well as managing vegetation near our facilities and rights of way.

We appreciate your patience and co-operation as we try to minimize disruptions and complete the work in your neighbourhood as quickly and safely as possible.

Vedder Mountain Road Gas Main Upgrades

Updated on: November 16, 2023

Project details: To meet the growing needs of our customers in Chilliwack, we will be upgrading a gas main along Vedder Mountain Road, from Cultus Lake Road to Sweltzer Creek Crescent. The work is scheduled to take place in two phases from October 29 to December 1.

Night work will take place along Cultus Lake Road from October 29 to November 8, the remaining construction work will take place along Vedder Mountain Road during daylight hours.

This upgrade is driven by regional growth and will allow us to meet the energy needs of customers now and into the future. This project will also improve site safety and ensure compliance with current codes and standards.

Drivers in the area may experience some delays as the work may require traffic controls and periods of single-lane alternating traffic. We encourage drivers to plan an alternate route, or, if they are in the area, to build in extra time to get to their destination, pay close attention to construction signs and follow the directions of traffic controllers.

We appreciate the public’s patience as our crews work to complete this work as quickly and safely as possible.

Anticipated dates: October 29 to December 1

Inland Gas Upgrades project in Kamloops

Updated on: Oct 12, 2023

Project details: This summer, we’re completing upgrades to our 3.6 kilometre gas line that runs through Kenna Cartwright Park. This will be followed by restoration activities, such as decompacting and recontouring the ground to its original grade and vegetation management and replacement to ensure safe access to our right of way.

The upgrade will strengthen our system by replacing an ageing gas line and allow us to continue to reliably meet the energy requirements of a growing region.

The work is taking place at localized sites within the utility corridor that runs through the park. We anticipate minimal public impacts and only short term detours around worksites for the safety of both the public and our crews. We ask the public to watch for any vehicles and equipment, stay within the marked paths and follow the directions provided by signage and crew members.

Start and end dates: July to November 2023
