We're in the process of expanding our Tilbury Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility in Delta, BC to meet the projected long-term growth for LNG as a cleaner transportation fuel and an important energy source for communities, industry and the marketplace.
This expansion will result in increased LNG supply, creating opportunities for industrial users and remote communities, bringing economic development and new jobs to BC.
September 2016 tank test
We need to do a hydrostatic test of the new LNG storage tank in order to meet requirements of the construction quality assurance program for the project. Hydrostatic testing is a process performed on tanks, vessels or pipes to determine their structural integrity and to ensure they meet safety standards.
The hydrostatic test and water discharge is planned to begin in September, subject to required approvals. Read more about the tank test.
