Co-op education

Are you a post-secondary student working on your undergraduate or graduate degree? Apply your knowledge of engineering, marketing, human resources, finance, technology and more by participating in a co-operative education program, or co-op, at FortisBC.

What is a co-op?

A co-op is a structured program for post-secondary students that combines academic work with paid work experience for a semester or two. Co-op students at FortisBC work in the department that best complements their education and gain real-world knowledge while exploring long-term career goals.

A great way to showcase your talents

FortisBC considers co-op students to be potential full-time employees. You may make valuable connections in your department and get noticed by hiring managers who may consider recruiting you after graduation. For example, some previous engineering co-op students have gone on to our Engineer-in-Training program after graduation.

How to participate

Participation is based on the university's semester system, lasting from 12 to 16 weeks and usually beginning in January, May and September.

To be eligible for co-op positions with FortisBC, you must register with the co-op program at your post-secondary institution. Please check our career site for opportunities or contact the co-op coordinator at your school to apply.
