Incentives for upgrading to LNG-fuelled locomotives
We can provide up to 50 per cent of the incremental cost of upgrading to a natural gas locomotive versus the equivalent diesel locomotive. This includes the capital costs associated with the locomotive and the fuel tender car. Applications are being accepted until December 31, 2021.
Owners of locomotives and fuel tender cars operating in BC are eligible to apply.
How to apply
- The completed application form, signed by the applicant, must be submitted to email@example.com by 11:59 (PST) on December 31, 2021. Late applications will not be considered.
- Once awarded, successful applicants must sign a vehicle conversion contribution agreement with FortisBC prior to submission of a purchase order for a natural gas locomotive or natural gas conversion kit. To obtain the contribution agreement, please contact Arvind Ramakrishnan, FortisBC manager, customer solutions NGT and regional LNG, at 604-592-8210 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The incentive program provides up to 50 per cent funding towards the incremental capital cost of a qualifying natural gas locomotive and fuel tender car, or a natural gas conversion kit, and an equivalent diesel powered locomotive.
