Fuelling station services

The right fuelling solution for your fleet

Our natural gas for transportation team has extensive experience designing, constructing and commissioning compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuelling solutions for transportation applications. This includes the successful completion of a number of fuelling facilities in BC.

CNG stations

We’ve helped drive the CNG for transportation marketplace by installing, owning and maintaining CNG compression facilities and dispensing stations as regulated services in our province. The design of a CNG fuelling station depends on your site and requirements.

Depending on your specific needs, we may recommend one or a combination of the following solutions for a station on your site:
  • Metered fast-fill is suitable for fleets that operate around the clock and require operators to fill up quickly and return to work. Measuring (or metering) the amount of fuel dispensed is possible via the fast-fill dispenser.
  • Unmetered fast-fill is suitable for fleets that require on-demand refuelling but don’t need to measure the amount of fuel dispensed.
  • Metered time-fill is implemented for return-to-base fleets where vehicles are parked and can be refuelled over an extended period of time, and where measuring the amount of fuel dispensed is required.
  • Unmetered time-fill is recommended for return-to-base fleets where vehicles are parked and can be refuelled over an extended period of time, and where measuring the amount of fuel dispensed is not required.

LNG stations

We’ve installed several LNG fuelling stations in BC. Since LNG is transported in liquid form, station design depends on the amount of on-site storage required and the logistics associated with transporting the LNG from our plant to the fuelling station.

There are two types of LNG stations we may recommend:
  • Mobile station is a flexible and scalable solution based on your fuelling requirements where LNG is transported from our production facility to your site and the mobile unit is refuelled as often as you require.
  • Permanent station is appropriate for a large fleet with steady and predictable volume demand where LNG is delivered periodically to your site by LNG tank truck.
