Mining incentive

Program update

Changes to the BC Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Clean Energy) Regulation now make it easier for FortisBC to help companies experience the benefits of natural gas for their mining vehicles. We can provide up to 75 per cent of the incremental cost of converting to liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered mine haul trucks. FortisBC is accepting applications from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

Eligibility requirements

Companies operating gas powered mining vehicles (e.g. mine haul trucks) in BC are eligible to apply.

How to apply

  1. The completed application form, signed by the applicant, must be submitted to by 11:59 (PST) on December 31, 2018. Late applications will not be considered.
  2. Once awarded, successful applicants must sign a vehicle conversion contribution agreement with FortisBC prior to submission of a purchase order for a natural gas conversion kit.

To obtain the contribution agreement, please contact Will Smith, FortisBC LNG & CNG account manager, at 250-801-6459 or
