New outage map and electricity usage data at your fingertips

FortisBC has launched two new online customer services enabled by its advanced meter project.

Available through the FortisBC Account Online service is a new tool for customers to view their weekly, daily and hourly electricity usage. You will be able to see how your usage changes during the week and at different times of the day, helping you understand what drives your electricity use. Customers who haven’t yet registered for Account Online can do so online.

Another benefit of advanced meters is our new live and interactive outage map. FortisBC understands that during a power outage, information is important and our new outage map gives you up-to-date information during power outages. The information provided by advanced meters helps us locate the source of unexpected power interruptions and improves our crews’ ability to restore power as safely and quickly as possible. The easy-to-use map is available on your browser and on your mobile phone.

Ongoing benefits of advanced meters include more accurate bills with fewer estimates and more flexible billing options. For instance, customers can now pick their billing date and switch from bi-monthly to monthly billing.
