September 1, 2010 Rate Increase On March 15, 2010 the BC Utilities Commission issued Order G-47-10, as part of BC Hydro’s F2011 Revenue Requirements, approving BC Hydro’s request for a refundable interim rate increase of 6.11 percent and a refundable interim increase for its Deferral Account Rate Rider, from 1.0 percent to 4.0 percent, both effective April 1, 2010. On August 5, 2010 FortisBC received Order G-127-10 from the BC Utilities Commission regarding its application for approval of interim rate relief relating to increased power purchase costs as a result of BC Hydro’s interim rate increase. As a result of the BC Utilities Commission approval contained in Order G-127-10, a general 2.9% interim rate increase, subject to refund with interest, has been approved effective September 1, 2010.
