

John Walker, President and Chief Executive Officer, FortisBC Inc, Terasen Inc. and the Terasen group of companies
Mr. Walker has worked with the Fortis group of companies since 1983, where he began his career with Newfoundland Power Inc. In 1989, Mr. Walker started at Fortis Properties Inc. where he held several positions and was President and Chief Executive Officer from 1996 to 2005. He is a member of several boards within the Fortis group of companies, including FortisBC Inc., FortisAlberta Inc., Terasen Gas Inc. and Newfoundland Power Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science and MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Michael Mulcahy, Executive Vice President, Customer and Corporate Services
Mr. Mulcahy began his career with the Fortis group of companies with Maritime Electric in 1993. Prior to his current role, Mr. Mulcahy was the VP of Customer and Corporate Services for Newfoundland Power. During his tenure at Fortis Properties Mr. Mulcahy played a key role in the growth and expansion of the hospitality division in his role as Vice-President of Hospitality Services. Mr. Mulcahy holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
Scott A. Thomson, Executive Vice President, Finance, Regulatory and Energy Supply
Mr. Thomson joined Terasen Gas in 1999. Prior to Terasen Gas, Mr. Thomson acquired extensive accounting experience with Ernst & Young in London, Ontario, where he obtained his CA designation in 1988. After four years in public accounting, he joined the management consulting practice where he remained for another 10 years. The experience prepared him well to assume responsibility for operations finance, his first assignment at Terasen Gas. In 2003, Mr. Thomson was appointed to Vice President, Finance and Regulatory Affairs for Terasen Gas.
Roger Dall'Antonia, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer (Gas)
Mr. Dall'Antonia rejoins Terasen with approximately 15 years of corporate finance and treasury experience.
Most recently he was Vice President of Treasury and Investor Relations with VersaCold. He also has considerable experience in senior financial roles in the energy industry including a previous position as Vice President, Treasurer, for Terasen Inc. and a position with Westcoast Energy. He holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University, an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Michele Leeners, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer (Electric)
Ms. Leeners is a chartered accountant with over 19 years of experience in finance, treasury and accounting. Ms. Leeners holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and prior to joining FortisBC, she was Manager of Tax and Manager of Financial Reporting for the Canadian division of a U.S. oil and gas company.
David C. Bennett, Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Bennett received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Victoria. He practiced law in Vancouver until 2000 and then moved to London England in 2001 to practice in the International Capital Markets Group of a Magic Circle Law Firm. He returned to BC in 2003 and was in private practice until he started with FortisBC in October, 2004.
Dwain Bell, Vice President, Distribution (Gas)
Mr. Bell was appointed to Vice President, Distribution in 2005. He has more than 33 years of experience in the Canadian natural gas distribution business throughout BC and Alberta, including Terasen Gas and one of its predecessor companies, Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. He has also worked in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia with Maritimes NRG vying for natural gas distribution franchises.
Mr. Bell holds an MBA and Graduate Diploma in Knowledge Management from Royal Roads University. Mr. Bell serves as Chair, Canadian Gas Association Standing Committee on Operations. He was a founding member of BC One Call and served on its Board of Directors and was involved in preparing the bid for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Don Debienne, Vice President, Resource Planning
Mr. Debienne has over 30 years of operational experience in the electrical utility industry, the last 15 of which have been spent with FortisBC and its predecessor companies. His prior experience includes 11 years with SaskPower, and he has worked in various operational, technical and senior managerial roles throughout his career. Mr. Debienne is a registered professional engineer in the province of British Columbia.
Cynthia Des Brisay, Vice President, Energy Supply and Gas Transmission
Ms. Des Brisay has been with Terasen Gas since 1999. Prior to Terasen Gas, Ms. Des Brisay spent several years working for Fletcher Challenge on independent power generation development in Canada and New Zealand. She also held commercial and engineering roles with a major Canadian oil and gas company in Calgary. Overall, she has more than 23 years experience in the energy sector. Her experience with Terasen Gas includes senior positions in major project and business development, most recently as Director, Business Development and Resource Planning. Ms. Des Brisay holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Queen's University.
Jan Marston, Vice President, Customer Care
Since joining Terasen in 1996, Ms. Marston has held a variety of assignments in both regulated and non-regulated subsidiaries of the Terasen family of companies. Prior to joining Terasen, Ms. Marston worked in a variety of marketing and management roles in the energy sector, for companies such as BP Amoco and Sceptre Resources.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, Alberta and has completed the Executive Program at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, Palo Alto, California. She is past president of Northwest Gas Association, serves on a variety of other business and community service boards including Western Energy Institute, Paintearth Energy Services, Women's Health Research Institute, and Technology Education and Careers Council.
Doyle Sam, Vice President, Engineering and Operations (Electric)
Mr. Sam has worked in the electrical utility industry since 1989, and has worked with FortisBC and its predecessor companies since 2003. He has operated in a variety of engineering, planning, operations and senior management roles throughout his career, including 13 years with TransAlta in the areas of generation and transmission. Mr. Sam is a registered professional engineer in the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta and holds an MBA from Queens University.
Robert M. Samels, Vice President, Business Planning
Mr. Samels has been with Terasen Gas since 1991. He has held a variety of senior roles including Director of Internal Audit, Controller and Treasurer of Trans Mountain Pipe Line, Director of Taxation and Insurance and General Manager of Transmission Operations, Director of Operations Support He spent 12 years in public practice as a chartered accountant, including five years with KPMG and seven with Coopers and Lybrand in Canada and Europe. While in public practice, Mr. Samels gained extensive experience in corporate tax planning, acquisitions, insolvencies, consulting and audits.
Mr. Samels earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba.
Doug Stout, Vice President, Energy Solutions and External Relations
Mr. Stout joined the company in 2001 as Vice President, Gas Supply and Transmission.
Prior to Terasen Gas, Mr. Stout held senior management roles with Belkorp Industries Inc. of Vancouver and in the midstream energy business with Calgary-based Husky Energy Inc. His early career also included experience in the construction industry with Peter Kiewit Sons' Co. Ltd.
Mr. Stout holds a degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA, both obtained from the University of Alberta. He has served as a Director for Sultran Ltd., Pacific Coast Terminals Ltd., and Hillsborough Resources Limited. He is currently a Director of the North West Gas Association.
