
 
FortisBC’s manages 1,450 kilometres of high voltage transmission lines which moves electricity from our generating stations to distribution substations where it is transformed to lower voltages and moved across our 5,550 kilometres of distribution wires to customers’ homes and businesses.
The FortisBC high-voltage transmission and distribution system consists of approximately 7,000 kilometres of transmission and distribution lines, and operates synchronously with the BC Hydro transmission system which is operated by the British Columbia Transmission Corporation. The BC transmission network is linked to the US and Alberta network.
