FortisBC PowerSense Forum & Awards

Learn how to save energy and money from PowerSense Conservation award winners!

You, too, can save energy and money, just like the FortisBC PowerSense award winners who will be showcased and celebrated at events in Kelowna, October 10-11 and in Castlegar, October 24-25.

Join us for our FortisBC PowerSense Forum & Awards as we recognize the 2012 PowerSense Conservation Excellence award recipients and learn from their successes.

Discover first-hand about energy efficiency programs and technologies—and the resulting savings—from conservation leaders in the residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors. These award recipients have completed new projects or upgrades that save more than 100,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually or over a 10 per cent reduction of natural gas use.

Day 1: Forum, Awards and Networking session

Designed to inform and inspire, the first day of each forum will showcase:

  • presentations by award winners and PowerSense staff
  • panel discussions about energy programs and efficient lighting and HVAC systems
  • award presentations and a keynote speaker over lunch
  • an interactive session on energy-smart corporate culture and customer behaviour
  • Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) ‘Mini-Spot the Savings’ break out session
  • a trade show featuring vendors who supply a variety of energy efficiency products and services.

Cost: No charge for FortisBC customers

Day 2: Spot the Energy Savings All Day Workshop

This all day, hands-on NRCan workshop can help you lower your energy costs and operate more efficiently. You’ll learn to spot your energy saving opportunities, from understanding the basics of energy use to developing an action plan for energy reduction, using a seven step approach that takes into account benchmarks from within your sector and examples commonly found commercial and industrial facilities. After attending this session, you will better understand your facility’s present energy use, what influences it; and what opportunities exist to reduce its present use.

Cost: No cost. This event is sponsored by the BC Climate Action Secretariat and FortisBC PowerSense. Seating is limited to the first 35 registrants.
