Gas marketers are independent businesses and have no connection to FortisBC. Independent gas marketers operate in a non-regulated environment. Conversely, the business practices, activities and supply and delivery rates of FortisBC are regulated by the British Columbia Utilities Commission.
However, gas marketers must be licensed by the British Columbia Utilities Commission and adhere to a specific Code of Conduct in order to supply gas to the commodity unbundling program.
