New Home Program

A house is made up of components that work together to form an integrated system. The performance of one component depends on its relationship with other components in the same system. The most efficient way to save money in your home is to build with energy efficiency in mind. Create a more comfortable home while saving energy – now that’s smart thinking.

New home program

There are two types of rebates available for new homes from FortisBC. Homes that achieve an EnerGuide rating great than 80 points are eligible for a whole home rebate. Alternatively, rebates can be applied to the individual energy saving measures that go into a new home.

New home program requirements

Rebates are available to customers for new residential premises that are constructed in the FortisBC service area or in one of the following municipal electric utilities: Grand Forks, Kelowna, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro. The dwelling must have a primary electric space heating system to be eligible for the insulation rebates. Please see the FortisBC new home rebate application for a complete list of terms and conditions.
