Energy saving toolkit

Save money and make your home more comfortable

FortisBC’s Energy Saving Toolkit will help you through the basics of power savings and it is FREE for qualified households.  It includes tools to help you reduce the electricity you use to heat your home and hot water, and run lights and appliances. Once installed, it can result savings of about $60* per year.

It contains a number of simple, easy-to-install energy saving products including:

  • a low-flow showerhead
  • faucet aerators
  • weatherstripping
  • window film
  • pipe insulation
  • outlet and switch gaskets
  • hot water gauge
  • compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
  • a fridge and freezer thermometer
  • an efficient night light

How to apply

Each kit is valued at $120, but is available for free to qualified customers on low or fixed incomes, or for half price ($59.95) for all other FortisBC electric customers.

  • FortisBC electric customers, order your energy saving kit online
  • If you are a BC Hydro customer, apply online.
  • Have the following information ready:
    • FortisBC electric account number
    • total household income
    • number of people in your household
    • home address
  • Please allow three to six weeks for delivery to your door.
