Comfort with curb appeal
When you renovate your home and purchase new qualifying ENERGY STAR windows, exterior and patio doors, you could qualify for a rebate of $2.50 per square foot if your home is heated with electricity. But don’t delay, offer ends December 31, 2012.
How to apply
Step 1 Have your windows and doors installed before December 31, 2012.
Step 2 Download the Home Improvement Rebate application form. Refer to the building envelope category. Complete the windows and doors section.
Step 3 Attach a copy of the receipt or invoice showing the ENERGY STAR model numbers, window and door dimensions and date of installation, and a photocopy of the ENERGY STAR window and/or door label.
Step 4 Mail in your completed application by March 31, 2013 to:

Step 5 Receive the $2.50 per square foot rebate as a credit on your electricity bill within 90 days.
Qualifications
- To be eligible for the rebate, the dwelling must have a primary electric space heating system (for example: air source heat pump, ground source heat pump, electric forced air or electric baseboard) and be located in the FortisBC electric service area or in one of the following electric utilities: Grand Forks, Kelowna, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro.
- The windows and doors must be purchased and installed between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.
- Rebate application must be received by March 31, 2013. No exceptions will be permitted.
- The offer is only valid on home renovations and not valid on new home construction.
- The replacement windows and doors must be ENERGY STAR rated for the correct climate zone or better. See Natural Resources Canada for details.
