A well-managed company is one that operates efficiently. That, we do. FortisBC pipelines run through some of the most inhospitable terrain on the continent, yet our operations and maintenance costs are among the lowest of any utility in North America. Why? Because of the operational excellence of our managers.
At FortisBC, management is held accountable for operational excellence — including:
- safety and reliability;
- customer satisfaction;
- cost management;
- financial performance;
- environmental responsibility; and
- the operation of energy systems.
As a manager, another key function for you would be to retain, attract and engage employees — the force behind our ability to provide energy solutions.
You will also have the opportunity to move into new departments. As a result, you gain diverse business and management experience and knowledge, while becoming a more valuable asset to the company.
Through extensive training programs like our Manager-in-Training program and ongoing career development and support, managers at FortisBC gain a comprehensive skillset to perform their roles.
Manager-in-Training Program
At FortisBC, we believe in properly equipping our managers. We want you to have the education and training you need to perform your job not only well, but exceptionally well.
One of our most popular and successful initiatives is our Manager-in-Training program. Candidates rotate through assignments on a one or two-year basis. They gain valuable experience and acquire broad exposure and understanding on a breadth of business issues.
