FortisBC has a comprehensive Engineer in Training (EIT) program which enables engineering students or recent graduates to gain practical experience.
FortisBC assigns a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) to each EIT for the entire training period of up to four years. The sponsor ensures that the EIT is assigned work which will enable the EIT to acquire his or her P. Eng status.
As part of FortisBC’s EIT program, participants may also have the opportunity to complete the training program at other locations in the Fortis group of companies. This provides EITs with an extensive understanding of different electrical systems and opportunities to travel within Canada (Newfoundland & Labrador, Ontario, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island) and abroad (Belize, the Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands).
