Toward Finish Line

This past year has been a busy one for us at Terasen Gas. Our work on the Fraser River South Arm Crossing Upgrade Project has progressed to the point where wecan now see the finish line.

Since you last heard from us, two important milestoneshave been achieved. Over the summer, both horizontal directional drills were completed by the primecontractor, North American Pipeline Inc. In fact, the two new 20 and 24-inch pipelines are now buried deep under the Fraser River – 197 feet and 165 feet respectively. With these important milestones accomplished, we are now working to attach the two new pipelines to our transmission system.

But our work doesn't stop there. Following the completion of the upgrade, we'll also be restoring the construction site. In fact, site restoration has begun, with parts of the Gilmore Farm already restored.

Without a doubt, this project has been a major undertaking and we've had our challenges along theway. Once the lines are tested and connected to oursystem, the pipelines will be put into service. And when that happens, the pipelines will play an important role in serving the energy needs of more than 220,000Terasen Gas customers all over the Lower Mainland, from Richmond, Vancouver, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver, to parts of Burnaby.

We'll continue to keep you updated as the project moves forward. If you have questions, call our project office at 1-888-553-7363 or visit us online at  terasengas.com/FraserRiver.
